Which mount does the RED Komodo 6K use?
Native RF mount. A Wooden Camera E-LPL adapter is used for PL-mount cine lenses, and an EF-RF adapter is available for EF lenses. Our Zeiss CP.2 PL Set, Canon Cine Prime Set and Tokina Cinema lenses all work on the RED Komodo.
What advantage does a global shutter provide?
The RED Komodo 6K has a global-shutter sensor. You avoid the rolling-shutter "jello effect" during fast pans, automotive (engine vibration), sports, dance/choreography and simultaneous flash photography. If you shoot automotive commercials, this feature alone is reason enough.
What advantage does the RED Komodo have over the Sony FX6?
The body is 46% cheaper (1,350 ₺ vs 2,500 ₺). Global shutter (the FX6 has none). 6K resolution (FX6 is 4K). REDCODE RAW workflow. Modular cube design — ideal for drone/gimbal. The FX6, on the other hand, offers built-in ND, AF and ENG ergonomics.
Does the RED Komodo have autofocus?
No — the RED Komodo is manual-focus oriented. It works with an AC (assistant cinematographer) or a wireless follow focus (Tilta Nucleus, ARRI FF-5). If you need AF, the Sony FX6 is a better choice.
Which media does it use?
CFast 2.0 cards. 256GB-512GB cards are standard. Our sets include 1-2 cards; extra cards can be requested. Recording time with 6K REDCODE is about 30-60 minutes per 256GB.
